Becky John, after reading a Guardian article about social enterprises in 2006, decided to trigger her activist DNA by founding Who Made Your Pants? (WMYP)
Becky writes in her own contributory piece about WMYP as “a social business in Southampton, creating jobs for women marginalized by their status as refugees. We’re five years old, and we employ eight women from refugee backgrounds, plus a part time office manager and me. Most of those inspirations are part of the wallpaper of my life now. We’re by women, for women. We use perfect fabrics left over from big underwear factories to make beautiful pants for women.”
