Research finds that a great number of social enterprises, businesses with social or environmental goals which reinvest their profits, are trading more with consumers all year round, not just during the holidays.
Last year, social enterprises joined forces to forge a message that would support them to sell their products and services – the Buy Social campaign, which was launched by Business Secretary Vince Cable. The Buy Social message is spreading, and the Social Enterprise UK has hooked up with Business in the Community to compile a Christmas shopping guide for people to ‘buy social’.
