Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
Surplus Rescue, created to utilize leftover waste materials from construction projects in Plymouth and stop them from going to landfill, is currently seeking businesses, charities, and educational institutions which would want to take them for “heavily discounted” prices. Surplus Rescue has garnered the Green Business of The Year crown at this year’s Herald Business Awards.
