Teresa Goines, the founder of social enterprise Old Skool Cafe in San Francisco and running for CNN heroes, manages a program that provides assistance to at-risk youth.
Not contented to just watch youth go to juvenile prison, Goines aspired to help keep teens from recidivism. She established Old Skool Cafe, a faith-based youth run supper club. She employs at-risk teens or those who have been put into jail to learn every aspect of the business. The teens are trained on how to become chefs, waiters, hosts, entertainers and managers.
