The Social Economy Alliance members had launched its I vote for a social economy, a campaign calling for a more social economy in Britain, at an open mic event in Manchester.
The campaign is geared to help people appeal to candidates to support the social economy in their region. According to Peter Holbrook, chief executive of Social Enterprise UK, “We must ensure that the next year’s general election delivers a government that supports the growth of the social enterprise and co-operative movement – we need more businesses in all corners of the UK that put people and communities first.”
