The H&M Group has launched its Social Entrepreneurship Project in collaboration with global non-profit Nest.
The Social Entrepreneurship Project seeks to engage with entrepreneurs in developing countries whose work brings about positive change in local communities.
The Project’s mission statement aims to “build a new ‘handworker’ economy to increase global workforce inclusivity, improve women’s wellbeing beyond factories, and preserve cultural traditions of craft.”
H&M, a Swedish fashion firm, states that through these efforts it will address four of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): no poverty; gender equality; decent work and economic growth; and reduced inequalities.
