Established by Big Society Capital and the Northern Rock Foundation, the North East Social Investment Company is soon to be launched for lending by mid-2014.
Big Society Capital and the Northern Rock Foundation announced a £11.5 million social investment fund, which will be managed by the social investment company. The first social investment fund would “provide an innovative regional strategic solution” to develop social investment in England’s north east, and serve as an opportunity to “create a seismic shift in the funding landscape of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in the region.”
